Once again, on behalf of the organizing team for the 30th CIRP Design conference I want to thank you for participating in the conference for this year despite the global pandemic. The CIRP Design conference has always been held physically, thus you have made history in being part of this milestone of having the conference virtual. Keep safe and stay healthy.

Kindly send through a bank letter for refund purposes to CIRPdesign2020@tut.ac.za, this is due by 28 August 2020. Failure to submit your bank letter will be taken as consent that you are not receiving a refund. It is thus important for all participnts to note that the amount received will vary depending on the exchange rate of the day of the refund. All refunds will be paid according to the exchange rate used at the time of your registration payment. The funds will be converted to the appropriate currency on the day based on the exchange rate which will be attached to the refund.

Conference Overview

The Scientific Technical Committee Design (STC Dn) of the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP) has been supporting contributions in the areas of design theories, methodologies, IT tools and their practical design applications over the past decades. The STC Dn conference provides a technical forum for researchers, industrial practitioners and policy makers to exchange ideas, share research findings and discuss future challenges in design for production engineering for preparedness for the fourth industrial revolution.

Wildlife Surveillance Competition

Students from various institutions across the globe are invited to the 2020 CIRP Design Conference, to showcase their innovative

technologies for alleviating wildlife poaching, prizes will be awarded.

Due to the unprecedented crisis caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, physical participation and presentation of the innovation will not be possible.

However, the competition will take place via videoconferencing.

All registered teams are requested to take a short video showcasing their innovation and all the features of their design. Maximum Video length: 5 minutes.

Kindly send your videos to monzambegm@tut.ac.za before the 5 May 2020.

Submission Dates

Abstract submission is not mandatory, you can submit full paper without abstract.
